Engagement does not imply learning.
Enjoyment does not imply learning.
Exhaustion does not imply learning.
Struggle does not imply learning.
Comfort does not imply learning.
Discomfort does not imply learning.
Following along does not imply learning.
A student can look busy, feel inspired, take notes, nod along, participate in discussion, and still walk away with almost nothing durable in long-term memory.
The question is not: did this feel educational?
The question is: can you use it to solve problems? Can you reproduce it later without the reference? Did the training produce a measurable change in what your brain can do?
This is why vibes are such a dangerous measurement tool in education. A class can feel good while teaching little, and a practice session can feel brutal while producing adaptation.
