Try to Recall From Memory

Whenever you’re about to look up info that you’ve seen before, do yourself a favor and try your best to recall from memory. Don’t automatically open up the reference.

If you really can’t remember:

  1. Open up the reference
  2. Peek at the info – just that specific piece of info that you were trying to remember, nothing else
  3. Close the reference
  4. Re-pull the info from memory
  5. Try to proceed forward as far as possible without peeking back at the reference again.
