The secret to building confidence is to first build skills.

Every time you get stuck and you successfully work through it, you build evidence that you can do that again.

And in math, that means having a bunch of tools to try.

Break the problem into smaller steps, rearrange the algebra, use a formula you know…

the more tools you have, the less likely you are to get completely stuck.

So when a harder problem shows up, you don’t panic.

You think, “Hey, I’ve been stuck before. That’s okay, ‘cause I know how to get unstuck.”
