The Funniest Math Academy Username of All Time

Time for some Math Academy storytime about the funniest username of all time.

We get quite a few people signing up with hilarious usernames – just skimming, I see a WaffleFarts, 200iq, LiveMathLove, wormzilla, birdzilla, momzilla, Getonmylevel, GarbageGoober, soggy_cracker, moldy_cracker, moosemoose, moosegoose… there are hundreds of these!

But the funniest username was probably Jason_Roberts.

Who was in fact not Jason Roberts (founder) but a middle schooler in our original school program, no relation to Jason.

What made it really funny is that a bunch of students in my classes got confused thinking Jason was competing with them on MA.

One of the kids asked me about it, I told him that “no, Jason is not doing MA tasks, that’s another kid from the program,” and then he changed his username to Justin_Skycak just to spur more confusion.

And then a couple more kids caught on and changed their usernames to the names of other instructors to continue feeding into the confusion.

This lasted for a day or two before all the other kids caught on with what was happening.

It’s one of those memories that’s fun to look back on every once in a while.
