Project-Based Learning Can Be Taken Way Too Far

The whole project-based learning can be taken way too far. See, projects are built on a foundation of skills.

You can’t do projects without the skills. And if you’re trying to fill in all these skills on the fly at the same time as trying to do the project, it’s just it’s not efficient at all.

It makes the project take forever, you don’t really learn the underlying skills that well. You just learn it just enough to get over the hump ahead of you.

You don’t really master it. The teacher kind of carries you or the smartest kid in your group.

And you don’t really learn the things that the project was supposed to be a milestone certifying that you’ve learned.
