Progress is Enjoyable In Itself

Making progress is really enjoyable. People typically find math (and other challenging activities) enjoyable by default and it’s really just the feeling of slow/stagnated progress that makes it unenjoyable, especially when coupled with overwhelm.

Kind of like how sports/games are typically enjoyable by default – unless you’re playing against competition that’s way overpowered (or underpowered) compared to your skill level and as a result you’re not improving, especially if you feel like you’re getting your ass handed to you every time you step up to the plate.
