Performance Improvement is the First Priority

Enjoyment is a second-order optimization.

First is performance improvement.

Performance improvement is where long-term satisfaction comes from, whereas enjoyment without progress improvement is fleeting.

So, the first priority is to get performance improvement on the rails.

Then, and only then – without lowering your rate of improvement, try to make it as enjoyable as possible.
