Q&A: Have you started using AI coding tools?

I’ve noticed the step change and enjoy using AI for fairly low-context tasks, or finishing tasks where enough of the context has been enumerated to make the remainder low-context.
However, my experience with high-context tasks is that it’s fastest to just start writing everything myself, top-down, and only hand it off once it feels like it’s been scoped down to a “paint by numbers” level.
I’ve seen serious progress and am excited for the future, but there’s still a big context chasm to be crossed. Though I may be experiencing this more intensely than most other devs given that I’m working on what is essentially an expert system, which is probably the highest-context setting possible for software development.
But anything that can be done more factory-style, yeah, AI is a godsend. I do find it valuable overall. Just not in the “nobody has to learn to code anymore” kind of way.
