Jason Roberts discusses ~57:00 in Math Academy Podcast 5, Part 1:
“Entrepreneurs have to be sort of self-deluding.
If you knew the actual price, what it was really gonna take, you wouldn’t do it.
You’re like, it’s gonna take me 2 months, 3 months max.
And then you get going, and of course, it takes 18 months.
But you made enough progress that you’re excited. In for a dime, in for a dollar.
You sometimes need delusional people at the helm just to get everybody going.
You distort reality around you because you believe so strongly that something is possible.
And it’s not only possible, it’s possible in a relatively short period of time.
And then you get everybody moving in the right direction.
And once you start making enough progress and learning enough, you get enough momentum and everybody’s like OK, yeah, we got this. It’s going to take more work, but we’re in it.”
