We now have a complete Common Core-aligned pathway from 4th through 8th grade into Algebra I, plus an accelerated 5th grade → Prealgebra → Algebra I track.

Our 8th Grade Math course is officially launched!

We now have a complete Common Core–aligned pathway from 4th → 5th → 6th → 7th → 8th grade, leading into Algebra I. (We also have an accelerated pathway: 5th grade → Prealgebra → Algebra I.)

And we’re working on expanding the curriculum downwards as well – more soon on multiplication facts, division facts, and the deeper science behind building math fact automaticity.

As I’ve been diving into the research and reflecting on my own experience working with early-grade students, I’ve realized that there is an entire body of cognitive science research about how to improve math facts learning outcomes, that largely has not yet been translated into learning platforms.

I am estimating another 100, maybe even 200+ pages in the Math Academy Way, detailing the big mess in typical math facts education, what the research shows are the layers of an optimal math facts training sequence, and how the microstructure of each layer emerges as the solution to a constrained optimization problem grounded in cognitive science.
